Widows Sons International Gathering Sofia, May 2025

DEAR BROTHERS OF WIDOWS SONS,

It is our profound honor to extend to you an official invitation to join us at "United Widows Sons (UWS)" - a remarkable event that will unite our brotherhood from all over the world in the heart of Bulgaria. From May 16th to 18th, 2025, the historic, culturally rich, and symbolically significant city of Sofia, will transform into a gathering place for our great family, where we will reaffirm our Masonic ideals, strengthen the fraternal chain, and celebrate our shared passion for motorcycling - the bond that unites us all.

The event will commence with a solemn ceremony officiated by the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria (UGLB), with our Brothers of the WSMRAinc in the States guiding the proceedings. We are privileged to invite you as honored guests at the General Assembly of UGLB, alongside Grand Masters from various Grand Lodges worldwide. This presents a unique opportunity to reinforce and consolidate the ties that unite us, to share wisdom, and to exchange ideas inspired by our timeless principles and goals.


Aim of the Event

Strengthen the unity of the Widows Sons brotherhood from around the world to Masonic ideals, strengthen the bonds of fraternity, and celebrate a shared passion for motorcycling. The event aims to address key organizational challenges, foster collaboration among global chapters, and establish frameworks for future growth and unity. Through ceremonies, discussions, and shared experiences, the meeting will consolidate the ties that bind us and pave the way for future initiatives.


    Accommodation Information

    The event and guests will be hosted at Hotel Ramada by Wyndham. Room reservation will be handled by the hosts based on the applied registration forms. 

    Transfer from Airport. We can help you with the transfer from the airport to the hotel. If needed please indicate that in the registration form. There is taxi stand at the exist of the arrival section of the airport. Taxis are relatively cheap, a ride to the hotel is around 12km and cost around 15 EUR. 

    All planned events will be supported with transportation and organised by the hosts. There will be dedicated guide and support for any questions over the stay, travel, sightseeing and other needs. 

    There will be additional events and support for our companions and non WS members guests, who will not join the WS events. 



    Official Program

    Friday (16 May): 

    • Widows Sons Ceremony at the WS clubhouse for Patch-in of new Widows Sons Members and Chartering of new Grand Chapters (pick-up organised from the hotel at:15:20)
    • Start: 16:00. Dress code: WS Vests
    • Welcome Party at the WS clubhouse (pick-up organised from the hotel at:18:30 for the companions and non WS members)
    • Start: 19:00. Dress code: WS Vests

    Saturday (17 May):

    • Opening of the General Assembly of UGLB (ritual part for delegates). Start: 10:00. Dress code: Black Tie.
    • Guests are escorted out, followed by a break for the General Assembly.
    • Lunch break 11:30-12:30
    • International Gathering Round Table. Start: 12:45 till 17:00 (with 1 coffee break)
    • Grand Master's Gala Dinner. Start: 19:00. Dress code: Black Tie. (~80.00 EUR per person)

    Sunday (18 May):

    • International WS Shooting Competition.
    • Departure: 10:00 (from hotel, organised transport)
    • Start: 11:00.
    • Lunch with Brothers 14:00.

    • Opening remarks by Grand Master of UGLB, Brother Nikolay Bozhilov, the Most Honored Member of WSGC Bulgaria.
    • Greetings by President of WSGC Bulgaria, Brother Daniel Kapsazov (“DK”), the Grand Benefactor of UGLB.
    • Greetings by WSMRAINC Trustee in Chicago, Brother Joe Norman, presiding over the global meeting.
    Discussion Points and Proposals

    1. Key Challenges in Granting Chapters - 13:10 - 13:50 (40min)

      • Identification of main issues faced in granting chapters.
      • Clarification and adoption of terms and requirements for granting a Grand Chapter.
      • Definition of the authority and procedure for establishing a Grand Chapter.

    2. Creation of a Unified Resource Platform - 13:50 - 14:40 (50min)

      • Proposal for developing a centralized page or website containing:
        • Key requirements.
        • Contact details.
        • Comprehensive information about all regular chapters.
      • Organizing a shared communication channel (chat) for presidents and secretaries.

    3. Coffee Brak 14:40 - 15:10 (30min)

    4. “Hour of WS” Proposal 15:10 - 15:30 (20min)

      • Introduction and brief explanation of the "Hour of WS" concept.

    5. Annual Joint National Ride 15:30 - 16:00 (30min)

      • Proposal for an annual joint national ride in a different European country each year.
      • Accompanied by a European meeting of Grand Chapter Presidents.

    6. Future Global Meeting Hosting Rotation 16:00 - 16:30 (30min)

      • Suggestion to hold the global meeting in a different continent and host country each year.
      • Acceptance of proposals for organizing and hosting the next annual WS global meeting.

    7. Miscellaneous & Meeting Closure 16:30 - 17:00 (30min)

      • Open discussion for additional topics or proposals.
      • Meeting Closure
